Product: Elitebook x360 1030 g2. Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) When secure boot is enabled I cannot boot from the internal or any external drive, it tries and then displays boot device not found. If secure boot is disabled it boots okay but I need secure boot to be active. I have tried replicating the setting of another laptop
Solution. #2. first thing i would attempt, possibly again for you, is; formatting both drives, remove the HD, determine if your laptop has a specific OS drive location (some have had auto-boot priority set to a certain SATA port), connect the SSD to the needed SATA port, perform a fresh install to the SSD.
Turn off your device and remove all power cords from it. If on desktop, remove any residual power by pressing the power button for at least 10 seconds. Now, carefully remove the side panel to get access to the internals of the computer. Check for any disconnected, misaligned or damaged wires.
10. May 6, 2020. #1. Hello everyone, I've just recently finished building my new system and I've ran into a problem: I'm not able to choose a boot drive from my BIOS UI. The only two options is the Intel gigabit something something. I'm using the Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming paired with an M.2 (Samsung EVO 960 256 GB) and SSHD drive (Seagate
Why is my USB not showing in my HP laptop Boot Menu?To make bootable USB show up in BIOS, try to specify the boot order: Depending on the BIOS manufacturer,
Intel announced that in 2020 they will no longer support Legacy Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) boot mode. This means that many 2020 HP computers with Intel 10th generation (and later) Central Processing Units (CPU) will no longer support the Legacy Boot option in HP Computer Setup (F10) BIOS.
I quickly checked the BIOS options and noticed that the Legacy Boot Source has my HDD listed so I know it is discovered, however it is not shown in UEFI. Correct me if I am wrong but Windows 8 boots from UEFI. This is the problem, it has no HDD to boot from in these options. What I have done thus far: Full chkdsk scans, HDD is fine.
If you see Secure Boot or Secure Boot Configuration in your BIOS but it is grayed out try the following: Step 1. Go into the BIOS and Load HP Factory Default Keys and see if Secure Boot becomes available. Step 2. If it does not than go into the operating system and disable “Fast Boot” (Steps below).
I have managed to enable secure boot now but for that need to disabled legacy boot but secure boot dont have option now to boot with internal hard drive its listed under legacy boot after enabling secure boot window cant starting as secure boot having no option boot from internal hard drive. Any help is appreciated on this. Thanks, Satish Kushwah
Save and exit. Have your boot media installed and do a power on start up. Watch the bottom of the screen for a message that corresponds 'Select Boot drive' and press that F-key. Find your install media from the list that has UEFI: at the beginning. The rest of windows install is the same as the old ways.
